The Pihapirtti cabin offers excellent facilities for meetings and staff training days. Available equipment includes an overhead projector, a flip chart, a VCR and a computer with internet access.

Nearby hill Paalajanvaara treats guests with a breathtaking view of the Lake Nuolijärvi and a traditional upper-Karelian village. Up on the hill, there is also a cabin where one can stay for a while to relax and take in the tranquillity and quietness of the surrounding nature.

The surrounding woods are excellent for hunting offering game such as wild rabbits and an array of wild water birds.

Organized hiking tours are organized to the House museum of Murtovaara, national parks of Tiilikkajärvi and Hiidenportti , as well as to the famous UKK hiking trail and the Talonpojan Taipale trail.

During summer time, there are also other activities available, such as rowing on a boat, canoeing, biking, and participating in taking care of the Guesthouse pets.

In the winter, guests may ski cross-country or enjoy sled rides down a hill. There is a lit 5 km ski trail and other marked ski tracks ranging from 1km to 25 km in length. Hikes on skis are organized in collaboration with Äksyt Ämmät .
